Migatronic MTE 220 TIG versus modern electronic Inverter TIG

Folks,

This is my dilemma. I am new to TIG. I have the opportunity to buy a Migatronic MTE 220 complete with torch and foot pedal for roughly £500. Otherwise I can go for a modern Inverter Fusion machine like those sold by Weldequip. Which was shall I go? How old is the MTE 220? Any comments on ease of use / longeavity? Any opinions will be gratefully received.

I have two Migatronic MTE220 welders, inherited from a company I used to work for. Both were faulty, one the secondary transformer had burnt out and the other had a broken wire-wound resister. I have repared one and the other is in progress.
I do not do a lot of welding but it certainly works ok for me as bot a stick welder and TIG. Whether they stand up to an industrial environment, I really don't know but they are by no means modern machines so that has to be taken into consideration and I would think that £500 is a fairly hefty price to pay for old technology.
