what sort of mig welding penetration for 2mm cds roll cage should what amp should i use etc

I would guess if you are using 0.8mm wire something like 16-17 volts and 80-90 amps though that probably doesn't help much. Much better if you experiment (a lot) by cutting and welding some test pieces to be sure you are going to get it right. Take note of the different settings that work best for different positions and joints.
