Mig Welding Gas Pressure

Hi,

A quick question.

I have a BOC gas bottle for my mig welder and have been using it for around a year now.

The pressure in the bottle is dropping and is now down to 40psi, still delivery 6-8lpm which is fine.

My question is at what pressure should I look at changing the bottle? I have a week off next week to try and get the last of the welding done on my restoration but I don't want to run out of gas.

From what I have researched 25psi will be about the lowest to supply enough gas, is that correct? When do you change your bottle? or do I just wait for it to run out completely?

Dont even think I could read 40psi on my gauge as the resolution is in such large steps to cover the 300bar (4351psi) max pressure.

Are you reading it right?

Think positive pressure valve in the cylinder valve is set to around 1.5 to 2 bar but will check and let you know

40 psi is not much more than 1% of the original fill, so not many minutes of use left. Worth changing, methinks.
