Is it possible to MIG welding cast ?
I have a Victorian Skeleton clock with a damaged dial , I have found someone to re enamel it for me and I have already straightened it but if you look at the picture at 10 O’clock
( no I don’t mean wait until 10 O’clock to look ) ha you will see that two of the pointed bits are damaged, it’s cast iron and only just over 1mm thick , I know I could build it up with gas weld but possibly cause more damage , I am hoping MIG on very low setting will do it but as I haven’t ever tried to MIG cast before I don’t want to cause any more damage,
The previous owner said it fell over.
