Hi all,
Had a job welding an aluminium bracket on a machine today. Not being set up for ally work i shopped about looking for a respectable machine ie: MIG pulse (i was even thinking about hireing a TIG set even though i have never done it). In the end i was convinced off a compnay not too far away from the place i was working that they have a MIG set up just for ally, a 240v 180a Craft MIG!! and ive got to say i was brilliant. I carried out a few tests to get the setting right and it welded great. Im now thinking of setting one of my MIG sets up for ally or at least selling a few and buying a Kemppi Minarc mig 200 as these are also capable of welding aluminium.
P.S. I'll post pics of my test pieces when i can round to it
