Mig thin wall stainless steel

I have lurked here for some time but this is my first post. I live near an Amish community and am called on to electric weld things from time time. I have been asked to weld a stainless steel tea pot. The spout had broken off and they had tried to jbweld it. Of course it broke off the first time it got hot.

The pot has some brass on the line between the pot and spout. I presume that it was originally brazed. I torched the surface to clean the brass like stuff and the jbweld residue. Can I spot weld the spout back on to the pot. Should it be rebrazed.

Should I just say no.

I would silver solder it if it is brass.

scott it seems to be stainless steel. There is fine line of brass on one of the parts.

It is most likely silver plated something so brazing or silver solder would be better.

Echo that previously said, silver solder but Cadmium Free... Important

Find another one like it and swap them, do they pay you in chickens ? The silver flux and solder are going to cost more than a teapot. If you can get a good seal spot welding would be easiest.

I thought they shunned 19th century technology.... but turn a blind eye when it comes to fixing their tea service... hmmmmm those shifty Amish...
