I,m attempting to restore a set of victorian railings which will require welding 16mm mild steel vertical rods to 40mm X 10mm horizontal flat mild steel. Can anyone let me know the best MIG Welder to buy to achieve this ? Cheers
You might also find that the railings are made from wrought iron. I think if you weld mild steel to wrought iron (to stick the new repair to the old railings) you need to do it with low hydrogen rods. And a mig might not be the best thing for the job.
