Mig gas price for one off job.

Hello all.

I dont do much mig work, it is mainly stick which i do.

However, I have a bit of mig work to do for a big one off job, and i need a big (W size) bottle of argoshield.

is it possible to get a full bottle from boc, and do the job, then return the empty bottle more or less straight away (couple of days say), so i dont have to pay a full years rent?

I do not have a boc account yet, and i dont want to set up an account if i have to shell out for the full year, as i really do not mig more than a couple of times a year.

any thoughts?

Yes, you can do that. You will pay a minimum charge of a months bottle hire, the charge for the gas, and the collection fee.

If you open a BOC account you can take a cylinder, you will then be charged for the year, but when you return it any unused full months rental will be credited to you, so a few of days use of a cylinder will still cost a full months rent, as long as those few days don't span 2 calender months,

i will open an account and i reckon i should get done easy in a week, so i will get 11 months back. thats spot on . thanks gents
