Mig gas in South wales

Looking for Mig gas in South Wales, occasional user.

I was looking at Adams gas but the delivery costs will crease me, anyone know of something similar in South Wales .
Failing that who is the cheapest supplier.

I recently rented a "Y" size argoshield light from BOC in cardiff.

£61 / year rental £ 38 / refill At new prices.

The bottle size is ok to fit in a car .

Thanks for the reply, I used to use BOC a few years ago and gave up with them' cos I wasn't doing enough welding to warrant the rental.
I was kind of hoping for an adams style or similar setup in wales to save on the £30 delivery fees.
I have to weld my Landrover chassis and a little bit of bulkhead and that will be that for a couple of years again, hopefully. Thanks anyway.

Hi

I just gave these guys a ring.... their CO2/Argon mix is called "cougar5" (grrrrrrrrrr)
A 2ft bottle (the x10s) is £25.86 to refill..... BUT the rental on the bottle is 25p per day.... or £80 a year cash up front (direct debit)

which is more expensive than the rental from BOC.....

so even with the £25 odd quid for delivery from Adams.... no rental and just a £40 deposit... they looking best so far

I use Air Products for my Argon, worked out alot cheaper than BOC. They have got a Newport supplyer.

Not sure on all the bottle sizes but mine is just over 5 foot, think it costs me about £35 exchange and about £8 a month.

Gaslink wales supply pubs with Co2 in south wales. I had a bottle from them awhile back. Their biggest is £30 plus £20 deposit for the bottle and they deliver to your door or meet you at the closest pub they deliver to.

I'm still looking for rent free option co2/argon mix in cardiff/south wales. Can't belive the cost of rental vs the cost of gas.

I think the closest you will find for rent free is maybe Hereford or Gloucester.
"Gasman" i think, supplies these places. Have a look at his post on the first page of this Thread.

"Archie" has also found info that Airliquide are doing rent free bottles.

Anyone know where I can get a bottle of pub CO2, without paying a deposit, near Aberdare? I baulk at paying £65 deposit for the bottle, I've got 3 empties as I used to get them from a local pub but that deal has dried up.

The reason you have to pay a deposit is simple , YOU HAVE 3 EMPTIES.
£65.00 is about the cost of a new cylinder , all our cylinders are new this or last year.

Have you tried any of our distributors .

We now sell our own gas in 20 litre and 10 litre bottles.

Alan ,yes I called Autoparts in Pontypridd,£65 deposit and about £40 for the argon/co2 mix. I'll swap you three empty bottles for the deposit if you want to
I don't go out drinking to pubs often,and don't have a regular,so getting the gas is a problem.
