It really is a strange 'disconnect' going on with cheap inverter MIGs' outputs. It's been going on for a few years. The "lowest Amps" specification on imported inverter welders has been discussed before.
Some of the data plates or Vendor specs state "30A" or even "50A", but this is mostly incorrect ( at least, on non-synergic models ).
These machines are switch-mode power supplies, with the output controlled by a potentiometer typically labelled 0 to 10. When set to "0", the minimum current actually is about zero.
A couple of my MIG repairer friends here have bought these broken yellow inverters. What's the difference between the Blue and Yellow models?
What's the difference between the Blue and Yellow models? Static Arc said the blue ones have burn back for Mig welding Quote “Burnback control” refers to a setting that can be found on certain welding machines. This setting is used to adjust how long a wire is electrically energized after the wire has stopped being fed. The blue one also has analogue dials to set machine where as the yellow one has digital switches you press to set. Static Arc told be they are stopping the Yellow one soon and just selling Blue one because of the burn back control. Hoping to get a blue one soon and see what all that does. Not had a welder with burn back control before.
