WE purchased MS 365 Family back in 2015 from PC world, downloaded it and it worked fine, until the subscription renewed last October as I'd forgotten to add a new payment card. It said it had renewed OK but at some point after that none of the apps (Word, Excel etc) would work without us entering the product key.
A search online found that this would have been sent out with the product packaging (bought online so no), or e-mailed (again no as I keep all of these things and it's not included with all of the others from that time period).
Tried clicking on the Manage Your Account link on the original purchase confirmation email from PC world and it's a dead link, presumably because they became Currys PC World or just plain Currys at some point, and trying the Forgotten Your Pasword option with Currys doesn't work so I can only assume our account with them is defunct?
Microsoft's online stuff is bloody useless as it tells me to look in my product packaging for this key, or the email from them which doesn't apply as I didn't buy it direct from them. Looking at our Microsoft account details online produces nothing either as it doesn't store your product code and all of the online 'how to find your product key' guides come up as dead ends too.
Rang Currys to see if I could retrieve my account, they put me through to Microsoft which was an AI which told me to look online for help.............
Microsoft UK phone lines only appear to to open between 14:00 and 05:00, so that'll be an overseas call centre..........
Trying to re-install the products from our Microsoft account produces a 'Class Not Registered' error.
I know Word, Excel etc are available using our MS account online but Mrs Browser does not like change and the on time I've tried using it I found it a pain if I wanted to send documents to anyone or print them off.
The only other thing I can think to do is cancel the subscription and start from scratch but I don't know if they'll refund my existing subscription as they don't seem to have that answer in their 'please ask us for help' bank.
