Parkinson's show was a staple of my childhood viewing. A proper show where the guests were allowed to talk and weren't just fodder for the hosts jokes. I still remember stars like Richard Burton, David Niven, and Lauren Bacall and Bette Davis being on. Vincent Price reading poetry still stays in my mind.
Actually, I was wrong about Price reading a poem on Parkinson. He was a guest of MP a few times, but it was on Wogan that he recited the poem I was thinking of - The Harlot's House by Oscar Wilde. Wonderful voice.
