Hi lads , just committed to buying a Genset from MHM in port talbot anyone in that area now the firm , is it true they now own Genset ?? They have loads of plant forsale on Ebay " but will not except paypal ' ? Any help from you would be great !
Mark
They are fine, you won't have a problem. I suspect they don't like PayPal as its too easy for them to get scammed. Remember, they don't know YOU either.
Cheers jim , I sent them an email yesterday , telling them the situation regards only paying through paypal .. as a family member recently lost six grand , so I want to be sure , ebay told me to refuse the deal if they wouldn't exept paypal , and I suspect they don't want to pay ebay,s fee either. But they just went quiet when I insisted on covering my ass " with paypal ! Haven't replied to emails since ?
Jim Davey ' a quick question ' does the same maths formula apply to working out the size of generator , for running a 3 phase welder as it does with a single phase plant?? and if so what amps 3 phase suitcase mig could a 15 KVH - 400 amps Genset comfortably run ?? Regards Mark .
I'll tell ya what jim Davey " your a star ' thanks for that , I will be looking that one up on google !! Just looking at the GenSet's on MHM 's ebay site trying to convince my self to go for the expensive one with 110 , and 10 Kvh of single phase as well as 400 amps 3 phase but it's another couple of grand more ?

Constant curren (CC) is for stick, Constant Voltage (CV) is for mig.
You can run a wire feeder off a welder with CC output only, but they weld miles better if you can get one with a switchable CV output.
Thanks fuzzy ' I'm debit cards unfortunately . Got an email from Mat today jim Davey , the machine I put my name to is CC , but I've sent an email today asking if any of the GenSet's they have are Constant voltage regulation & CV ' if they have one I will try n strike a deal tomorrow ! Something tells me CVR is going to cost me !
