not sure if its a correct way to measure the arbor of a 4.5" angle grinder arbor.
I have a 4" battery angle grinder and I want to fit some wire brushes which I already have onto this 10mm arbor.
my 4,5" arbore measured 14 mm ,the question I know it sound daft but can I hell find an adapter 10mm female to 14mm male.
I can find 10mm female to male 16mm.
I know you may think why not just buy a set for a 10mm arbor but I have 6 of these for the bigger corded grinder.
just cleaned and painted all my lead flashings on my house but have trailing cables up the ladder is a bit of a chore.
it would be easier using a cordless.

Surely that’s exactly what you need.
It has a 10mm female thread to fit the 4” grinder and a 14mm male thread to fit the wire brush.
Or have I missed something?

M14x2 with an m10 up the middle will have a 1mm wall thickness where the spiral crosses and in my opinion, unsuitable for the task!

Buy either a cordless 5" grinder or some correct wheels for the one you have, in my opinion.

I would be concerned that you could overload the 4" grinder by using wire wheels intended for a 4.5" grinder!

Wire wheels are hard on a grinder, I should think your batteries would not last very long.

Another concern would be the speed.
A 4" grinder will run faster than a 5" so the wire brush may not be rated to the right speed

Quite. I'd be surprised if a wire wheel that fits on a 4.5"/5" grinder was rated even for that RPM much less the RPM of a 4".

What am I missing?

Need to check the speed rating of the wheels, obviously, but, for example, the M14 wire wheel I use on my 4.5" grinder is rated at 12,500 RPM and my M10 4" Makita corded grinder is 12,000 RPM, so the wheel would be OK on it with a suitable adapter. A cordless grinder will very likely be slower.

FWIW, I wouldn't have any qualms about using the type of adapter in the link I posted above. It's just a threaded bush - more than strong enough IMHO.

...In fact I might just buy one, as finding stuff with an M10 thread is a PITA.

pretty sure my knotted wire wheel is rated at over 12k rpm too, although i doubt i could find the actual specs now. i wouldnt have an issue using an adapter where the m10 thread runs inside the m14 thread, but using one where the m10 in inside the heax and the m14 sticking out the end seems like it would load the spindle a bit much with the extra pressure on it and the bearings may not be happy about that although it may not make a blind bit of difference.

personally i'd just buy some m14 rod or a suitable bolt and stick an m10 down the end of it

I'd be happy enough with a m10/14 bush even if it had 0 5mm wall thickness.
It's captive inside another thread so it's not going to rip apart.

My 4" grinder is 11k rpm.
The 5" wire knot brush I use is 12.5k so would actually be ok although I'd be a bit worried about overloading the grinder using it

I only want it for a occasional use mainly cleaning the lead flashing on my house.
I've been using ordinary black paint which quickly peels after a year or two.
I'm now using 901 Black Bitumen Paint | Everbuild Black Jack | Weatherproof Protection | 5 L.
so should last.

Please read your own initial first post: "can I hell find an adapter 10mm female to 14mm male". Nothing in the picture in Turbo's post meets your own description. The one item in the Ali listing (not in the picture above) that will do the job is identical to the one Misterg shows.
