metal shed, roof washer dilema.

just built a metal 20x10 metal shed, but it did not come with enough roofing washers.
id like to buy some cause who knows how long it will take for them to send out the washers.
thing is they are just a soft plastic with a internal diameter of 4mm. i cant find anything with the equivalent internal diameter, and dont want to use anything larger incase it voids my waranty. anyone got any advice?

actually thinking bugger it, i need this thing water tight sooner rather than later so have found these self drilling screws from screwfix. they are a lot more substantial than the ****ey self tappers that were supplied.

scrap that, they dont have stock anywhere

Those are what I used on mine (ebay buy) and never had a problem yet, I am however always a bit belt and braces so I put a small drop of clear silicone under the steel bolt head, not much..just enough to see it squeeze out.

TEK screws. Make sure to get the ones that are for going into steel rather than timber. Self-drilling and self-sealing with an inbuilt ruber washer.

First link on eBay for them here. 26mm is pretty short though, they come in much longer lengths.

the self tappers they supply are 4.1mm x 11mm
i diddnt want to go for a larger diameter screw, but looks like i dont have a choice, plus those TEK screws actually look like a decent upgrade.

TEK are the only way... powerdrive too.... 5/16 or 8mm socket, if you have lots to do buy a tek drive bit with magnetic holder

no need to silicone these work every time ime

TEK screws how did we live without them, remember the finer thread for thicker material e.g. RSJ coarser for purlins, we us 1000s on cladding + plastic caps to match cladding finish, get hex bit to go with them has magnet in base to hold screw.

Another vote for Tek screws, I've put in thousands of the things with a cordless drill and a magnetic driver.
