I have an outrigger on my discovery 2 that needs replacing. When I cut the old one off I will grind the metal back for a good welding surface. To avoid rust developing in-between the out rigger lip and chassis what's the best product to use? I was going to use a weld through primer but it doesn't seem highly rated.

I'm guessing you are spot/plug welding the outrigger which has flanges that butt up against the chassis then? Not a lot you can do on those mating surfaces, but if you seal them up properly any corrosion should be negligible. The inside will be the hardest, some sprayable creeping solution would be best probably - have a look on the Bilt Hamber website. For the outside which is easily accessible epoxy primer is best.
