Metal bath

Whilst clearing up outside I found our old bath, I guess It's cast iron and the coating on the inside is enamal?

Anyway, would a normal scrap metal merchant take this? Is there much money in it?

Depends some of the old cast iron baths are now worth good money, when compared to there scrap value. Could be an item for ebay, in fact check flea bay and see what they have

Just looked on there and there's not much really happening, most (white) ones simillar to this are £10, with no bids. And this is a manky shade of light blue

Take a lump hammer to it and take it to the tip or scrappy. only worth a couple of £ scrap value

Smacking ten bales out of it with a hammer can be fun, just wear safety glasses as cast tends to shatter so to speak.

It's worth next to nothing at the scrappies. If it's got fancy ball and claw feet you could get a good few bob for it. Otherwise, use it as an outside bath for those long summer evenings... Fill with water, light a fire underneath, a couple of candles and a glass of wine... loverly. And in your case, the midgies can have you for supper.

Do what seems to happen round here. Put it in a field and let the horses drink the mouldy green water which gathers in it. Plug required.

If it's not worth a bean, put it on the front of your house with a sign on it saying "For sale £100 ONO" it'll soon be nicked. Save you the hassle of dealing with it.

When the bathroom was being done 5+years ago some local farmer was gonna come round in his jcb and take it for animals to drink out of, but he never did.

I've got some metal to go to the scrappies and still got space in the trailer so may just throw it in with the rest....

Avon Skin So Soft. Nothing beats it, and it's loads better than those horrible anti midge chemicals you have to keep out of your eyes and mouth. You'll smell like a tarts knickers, but believe me it's worth it. (just don't bat your eyelids walking past scaffolders )

Oh aye, and forget Citronella. The little buggers love It!

Good idea with the cutting torch but could cause problems in pub beer

Yeh Avon skin so soft is ok.....you get soft skin aswell

The Skye midge is a different matter....thick clouds of them. They wait in the heathers near laybys for any passing motorcyclists who stop for a quick slash

A way to get RID of midges is using a midge eater, best ones are made by Texol

Hmm. And comfortable with my sexuality . So i'll wear bloody smelly midge cream if I want. Tell you what Paul, you should go to Skye and stand outside just as the sun goes down. And you'd understand.

Actually, the worst i've ever seen midgies was at Kielder in Northumberland. Or possibly skye. And got bit to f*@& at the top of Goat Fell on Arran. In fact, wherever they are, they should be shot!

Got the bloody pikeys in near our shop. We are out on site this week so have welded a 600 x 200 universal beam across the back of the doors. We've not fed the dog forra bit either so he's ready for a feed on any little bugger who tries to get in.
