I just been in dilemma here.
i am intending to purchase an angle grinder!
I am a Metabo Man!
I am between

Metabo WE 9-125 Quick

Metabo WEA 14-125 Plus

Not know what to choose really.
Size and weight is important but power also.
Any suggestions?

both nice machines and quality gear. ive got 4 of there drills . all second hand and they last for years ive also got a metabo twin wheel diamond wall chaser that was new.expensive stuff but nice

No, hang on - he was a Makita man, as I remember!
What I can tell you is that both machines are just over 12 inches long though, if that's any help!

the we9 has a 570 w motor 2.5nm torque whereas the we14 has a 1400w motor and gives out 3.3nm id personaly have the one with the largest motor if theres not a lot in it price wise

Thanks for the info even the size it seems nearly similar in both!
I assume the motor and the fact that the one goes between 3000 and 10000 rather than 7000 to 10500 it is a little bit of an issue for me.
I prefer the 3000 and 10000 but 950W?
I have to make my choice here not an easy thing!

I guess it was because you were asking about a couple of the same grinders that he was asking about, a couple of pages into the thread.

Back on topic though, I understand your dilemma here. I'd be after the unit with the most powerful motor, as Brightspark said, but I gather that one doesn't have such a large range in speeds.
It looks like one of those tricky trade-offs. I'm not all that good with decisions, myself!
I don't have a variable speed grinder, but for what it's worth, I do use a variable speed die-grinder, and a slower speed can be handy if using a wire (wheel-type) brush, and you don't want all the wires flying off as soon as you switch it on. I've always found the single speed (flat out or nowt!) angle grinder to be just fine for my usage, though.

I am glad that I see that other people have similar experience.
To be honest without to be an expert I feel after some chat with a friend of me which he is a Metal Fabricator that the Metabo is the Brand that I will go for an angle grinder.

I assume you check the link and found the similarity in the thread .So I do understand the concerns, of CJ and the rest.
A lot of your questions have been asked in that thread.
I have purchase the Metabo WE 9-125 Quick my self after some Female help .
The only thing I have to say to you is what a quality!
Pleased 100% really happy that I bought this tool and really recommended!
Expensive kit but worth its money.
Now between the two really still not sure.
The 1400W really it is a big bonus in the WEA 14-125 Plus .

I recently bought the WE14-125 Quick from ebay and it arrived next day. The grinder is 1400 watt which is very powerful for a hand grinder and it has variable speed from 7,000 to 10,800 rpm which is also useful for cleaning with a strip disc. It also has a clutch to prevent motor damage if the disc jams and a no volt switch so you cannot start it by accident switching it on. I am a big fan of Metabo and this was the best price I could find a similar grinder at, nothing to do with the company or ebay seller as per the usual disclaimer but highly pleased with the service.
