Hi all,
At work we have just replaced our Murex welding plants with Merkle units. For my section I have been allocated a Merkle Red Mig 1600 K. Anybody know anything about them?
First impressions are a smooth weld at lower amps but at max power it sounds harsh. The results are good compared to the old murex.
The wire feed set up looks strong. A big fan cools the unit. The bottle carrier is a bit flimsy and intended for a Y bottle and not the full size one. The whole set up is a bit big for some of my work and I will have to resort to my faithful Draper 1302T to get it inside the macines I need to weld.
Sorry I cannot post photos. MOD work.
When I get the chance I will try the other units, mig, tig and plasma cutter.
Chris
