Nah. I proposed this back in 2008 to American researchers. Never heard back. Then had some discussions with Professor Alex Seifalian at UCL in 2011. Later with Prof Mark Post at Maastricht University. They were both really down to earth.

Something like this was done several years ago with esophageal cartilage as a scaffold for growing tissue.

It was heralded by the inventor as a wonder treatment but I'm fairly sure that most, if not all the grafts failed relatively soon after transplant.

I sincerely hope that this treatment is more successful as it has the potential to be life changing for an awful lot of patients.
