I paid £300 for mine last spring/summer and didn't seem like a huge bargain until I turned up to be told it come with a big (I could barely lift it) bucket full of drills too (MT and straight shanks up to 1" 1/4) and a spare brand new 1/2hp reversible single phase motor too which at a guess would fetch £150 on their own. If I had to buy another pillar drill I'd happily go out and pay £300 for the drill alone it's a bargain compared with what a far inferior Chinese POS will cost new.

That's the really important issue as far as price goes, the back gear gives it the range of slow speeds for drilling BIG holes and adds a huge amount to the value.

Yep, gearbox switches from high to low range so gives speeds from 80 to 4800rpm.

It's great condition.

Agricultural suppliers often have a range of belts though will likely be a bit more expensive - think mine was around £5 or £6 off the top of my head but avoided having to drive to the nearest belts and bearing supplier.

Enjoy! You'll never need another. Now get some clamps, it gets freaky when you have a big drill going through a large lump of steel, and the only thing you can be sure of is the drill is not going to stop, whatever happens! :-)
