mec brown cold saw

hi.
thinking about buying one of these saws, as they are 3 phase i was wondering whats the best way to run it on single phase.

either change the motor/inverter or get the 3 phase motor rewired to single phase.

The motor on mine is a chunky beast integrated with a 90 degree gear box. Put an inverter on it but dont be tempted to change the speed much

Mine works off a 3 phase inverter, best thing i ever bought.

Have a search around as they're not all 3phase,
Had my old Clarke cold/cutoff saw for over 20 years with single phase,
Think SIP do a single phase version?

yes any make cold saw will do.
not in any rush for one at the mo as i have an evolution saw.

Mine is 3hp so I went with a 4hp inverter

I searched for about a year looking for a single phase jobbie, never found one so ended up with a 3 phase, brilliant tool though.

there was a 240v mec brown one at an auction a couple of weeks back
but i did'nt bid...it went for £180.00 kicking myself now.

That was cheap for a single phase, I did find some but they were all £300 plus, I ended up with a 3 phase jobbie because I already had the phase convertor.

Mine is a 300mm disc, I'm not sure the single phase one's go that big on disc diameter, most I saw were much smaller.

that was £180.00 plus vat plus 15% sellers fee...still cheap.
