i as lucky enough to do a weeks work experience at mclaren back in about 94 when i wa at school. Did a couple of days in the factory at Shalford where the carbon fibre bodies were built (built some carbon fibre keyrings and even made part of a bumper vent that was going on a real car) and then a couple of days at the woking headquarters where they assembed the F1s

just scanned in a couple of the pics i took (not the greatest unfortunately)

i was in awe

anyone else spot the huge mistakes when they were talking about the engine though? absolutely awful..

Yes: "And here they are putting the pistons in the head"......

I dunno ,but do the cars and factory come across like much of modern engineering as impeccable, yet boring and characterless ? Suppose its why i like old junk.
