Hi I have a new Binzel MB25 torch connected to a Classic Mig (Elland) 200, using 0.6mm 5kg SIP wire. All new (weldequip Cheers).
I am new to welding, but have used many types of electrical, electronic & mechanical tools, so only a partial fat fingered oaf ;-)
I cannot for the the life of me get the bloody thing to feed the wire without it coiling up at the torches connector end, forming a "spring" of wire in the brass end, which I have to pull out & uncoil & cut off, 50m so far. The tensioner is numbered, very similar to the tutorial picture here. It has been tried at 3, 2 & currently 1, least tension, but still coils up.
I have cut off a 4m length of 0.6mm wire & have the torch on the dining table, no workshop yet. I have manually fed the cut wire to feel what is happening inside. It feeds so far & when it gets to the torch area meets increased resistance & an obstruction or "internal burr".
I am going to strip it to see if I see anything untoward, but the main question is, do I need an MB15 for 0.6mm wire?
According to Binzel's website the MB25 is suitable for 0.8mm to 1.2mm, but parts listings have different liners for the smaller size wire, should I get a smaller liner?
Cheers, Miles HC
And thank you for such a trove of info & help, flaming marvellous, which reminds me I must remove all combustible material from my practice area.
