So about two months ago I've had a broken injector on my car, small fuel leak.
Installed fire extinguishers in the trunk and right below the passenger seat.
Eventually replaced the intake manifold and put brand new injectors.

Had Miss firings later on so replaced the crankshaft position sensor and sparkplug wires.
Cars fine but engine light on
OBD says camshaft position sensor...
My car runs well a little instable idle but overall good if not great...
On yesterday I've felt like it was slightly rich because at over 3000 rpms it should sound lean as hell.
Now it's producing a great rich sound (straight pipe) and if it happens to reach the limiter it spits fire from the tail pipe.
Now that's an ironic thread because I know what I have to do (replace the camshaft sensor) but should I put a small turbo and run 0.4 bar of boost instead?
It'll be a lot cheaper than replacing the injectors, cause the OEM ones are over 180 euro each .
I think the ones I've put in are giving more fuel than what they are supposed to.
And I'm kinda tempted to turbo my car

I think there's plenty of people who want me to turbo it .
@Munkul is one of them as he did and did it well with around 180HP, he ended up managing to make it throw a connecting rod or put a hole on a piston something like that.
As said it's just for laughing that's because it was in the social club section.

Because of the fire spitting from the exhaust?
I've thought so but it's very unlikely cause it sounds spot on and most importantly it doesn't overheat, and it should due to the combustion being not completed inside the cylinders.
But surely worth to check

I actually turboed a 1.2 8v mk2 punto for someone else, after i did my own16v. Was running a safe 120hp at around 0.8bar boost.
It used a 2nd set of injectors and a piggyback fuel controller that only added more fuel when running on boost. The standard ecu and injectors did all the off-boost stuff.
Importantly, the 8v ECU didn't throw a hissy fit about seeing boost, whereas the 16v ECU did. I had to clear error codes regularly, every few days, or it would go into limp mode. I eventually fitted a standalone megasquirt ECU.

I would recommend fixing the rich running issue before thinking about putting a turbo on. You need fuelling to be correct, or it will either wear your bores out with borewash, or put holes in pistons.

Near 190hp in a mk2 punto was a lot of fun though shame about the fact it ended up as a firey blaze.
I was pulling my hair out over an unrelated issue it had- kept blowing turbo seals after the last rebuild. I only worked out what the problem was years later, long after the car had gone to scrappy.

For ages i had a bodged up scrappy spec turbo oil return. It looked awful, but was a nice big bore and worked well.
I eventually replaced it with a shiny aluminium oil fitting with half the bore size.
That's when my problems started.

Yes it is I've got mine on October 2020, I'm not willing to replace it with anything else, it's an headache with tons of problems but it has a soul, every two years it needs attention for something not easy to fix but it's my little car I'm not going to let her die
