I had no idea that they made anything other than guns (shouldn't be a surprise I guess) until I discovered a Mauser micrometer in amongst the measuring stuff I picked up this morning. I'll get a couple of photo's tomorrow as it's an interesting little curio that may well be of interest to some on here. Going by what little there is on the 'net about them it would appear they produced that sort of kit between the wars when they weren't allowed to make guns (that worked well )

Like most people I'd heard of their guns, and the reputation for quality/finish. Never entered my mind that they'd made other things, although given the other German/Eastern European engineering notables like Krupp and Skoda it's not a surprise.

A certain amount of irony in it being used in Coventry though.
