Material for custom tube frames?

If I was to want to make a custom steel-tube sidecar frame for a high-powered engine, what material would I use? What welding process?

Usually T45 thin wall tube TIG welded with mild steel

If you were to do that, the first question you'd get asked would be, "Is this a race outfit, or a road outfit sir?"

Well probably not the "sir" bit because people are seldom that polite...

Then someone might notice you're from Kent and ask "Not a Kent left hander?????"

its in diss norfolk

gsxr1127, lwb chassis, spare set of wheels £1200

would be about what you would pay for tube alone!

Michael1703 - thanks for that but it's not my cup of tea. I might have been interested in a bare rolling chassis though.

Still all in the planning stage right now, but I got some good stuff to go on.
