Marcaddy Cable Reels

im after a heavy duty cable reel to put my 4mm^2 H07RNF cable for the welder on.

I’ve got an old one picked up from a scrap yard and it’s been a good reel.

I’m looking at a steel 300mm or 380mm reel. No slip ring required. SK380 is the part number.

But the prices are ridiculous. £180+VAT FOR A REEL!

Anyone know of a cheaper supplier than Farnell or a similar item but cheaper.

Surely a man of your abilities can make a better than bought reel in short order.

Edit, I say this as a man who has been going to make a steel reel for his own 4mm for about 10 years

We buy them direct from Marcaddy (Cablecaddy is the retail arm)... If had some spare at work I could 'find' you one, but we order them in as required

Didn’t realise you could buy direct. I’ll give it a shot.

If they come back a bit more reasonable I’d have one for my welding cable.

I often find by the time you source the materials and make something 10x more heavy duty than you really need, you end up putting more hours into it than you could have bought one for

Not sure if they are too big, but look at window cleaners hose reels.
