Where did you get that DeWalt battery? I ask as the "20v MAX" branding is an American thing, my ones (And every 5 cell battery I've ever seen in the UK) are labelled 18v. Exactly the same thing just different branding, I assume because of some advertising law in the UK.

They did it to distinguish it from the old lion gear in the USA.18v is kind of an average, 20v is the max and in America more is betterer......

Just waiting for the recently released router to come down in price and il be nabbing that. Took em long enough.Dewalt rep told me they have a cordless core drill coming, it may be enough to tempt me back to yellow
There is more to it than just usage time between charges.
Tool power, torque, general performance! Overall battery life. A lot of it is governed by the battery. We know the knock offs are not going to be using the same quality cells as the oems because they are sold at half the price. For me I just don’t see the point. It’s like buying a Lambo and fitting it with remoulds.
If you buy a makita you’ve bought it because you want performance and quality. Fit it with makita batteries.
I can already see quality differences from your photos before even worrying about the cels.Or the cells are comparable and the markups a lot higher from the big brands.
Torque is very obvious when cutting wood.
No sag only difference the cut off point is lower on the flourens. Not that I let them get that low often.

Cable thicknesses (CSA). copper connectors where it mates the tool, soldered joints look much better, the way that little board look secured. A lot of little improvements before looking at the cel quality. I’m sure they are one of the better knock offs but I’ll not believe they are as good as the proper dewalt.
