at the moment I have a 12 ton hydraulic press bought off ebay.
the 12 ton gave up in the end so I fitted a 20 ton jack and what a difference it made but the frame wasn't design for that and yes it buckled a bit.
so I've decided it would be cheaper to build my own for half the price.
I can buy a steel Chanel at £10 a mtr 100mm x 50mm x 5mm thick.
of course the top and lower bit will be strengthened.
and there will only be 2 holes or welded flat bars 1" quare .
now the question is would this be ok for 20 ton or ebven 30 ton?
I can get wider 150mm but I don't think this would make much difference.
oh and the most I'll be punching is 2mm to 3mm thick plates for brackets etc.
