Making a linisher

I had a linisher in mind for a while, then when I saw a 3 phase motor lying in pieces at the scrap yard, I thought the rotor and bearings would be ideal, asked about a second motor and they had one so I dismantled it too. second rotor is a bit smaller in dia but same length so I can live with that. I can always make them the same size on the lathe as I will be turning the middle part down to suit the alloy ends which are a bit smaller anyway.

Well, it's made and it works and it's painted, need to add a switch.

you missed a bit with the paint.
I was going to make one, I got as far as stripping a motor to find[looking for the tsar point] it
is 415V delta.

No sorry MattF. For one thing I never thought of taking assembly photos, also my camera is a bit delicate to have near me at that stage of the game. It's just as seen though, very simple.

you missed a bit with the paint.

Paint sprayer wasn't working well due to neglected cleaning from previous job, (it's clean now)
Yep, pretty crude paint job but it will do me.

It becomes expensive for the rollers...could we...

Use a 1mm to 2mm wall thickness ally tube,plug it with a turned down wood roller to tolerence fit,then bore out a center hole in the wood roller big enough for another ally tube for the spindle drive.

Can't see why not, might be better of solid shaft in the middle with pins or something right through to keep it from spinning in the wood.

I had the rotors and bearings from the scrappies for a £5 so not complaining.
