Was beavering away with my trusty Proxxon mains rotary tool, when it died with a medium phut!
I've opened it up, hoping to see signs of trauma, but I can't see any signs of anything. There was no smell of burning before or after, although it had got quite warm (but had had a 10 minute break whilst I wrestled the ground remnants out).
Plug fuse was dead, replaced that & that blew without any other signs.
I've searched the pcb part number but no joy and it's hopefully just one component that's blown? The X2 capacitor? Anything I can test - I have a standard multimeter and a (dangerous? ) bit of knowledge.
I don't think it's the same problem as the post for the Micromot 60 capacitor as his still ran and it was a polarity issue.
Is it a goner, or what might be worth looking at/replacing?
Many thanks.
