Magnifying lenses?

I have seen them talked about on US sites but never over here.
Anyone know where to get them if indeed they are available?

I've been using a 2x cheater lens for the last 5 years ,i prefer to use a lens than use my glasses under my lid as i used to get reflections when using glasses.Fantastic bit of kit,i struggle without it ,for low amp tig work ,mig and arc i don't need it but at 20amps on tig it doesn't give very much light and the cheater lens me produce good welds with a close arc.....

I've never tried one to be honest but i had the opputunity to try one today and must say i was impressed, the one i tried was a 2 x

Go into one of your local store that sells ready made reading specs,and try a few different diopters, BUT make sure you test them at the distance that will be your typical weld pool will be from your eyes, Average reading distance is reckoned to be about 14".I use 2.5 diopter for reading etc, but for computer use because I sit slightly further away from the screen I only need a 2.0 diopter,

My reading glasses are L1.5,R1.75 and I got a 2x cheater lens and they have been a real eye opener , so much easier than putting on glasses then mask and all that cufuffle.

Here is a link to a download a self test chart you need to determine the distance you work at so more like a computer monitor distance than reading - you measure the work distance
