Magnetic Sweepers, any good?

Much Cheaper and cleans all the cr*p up not just steel....I use one of These over my bench after using the chop saw....

I've got one of the £25 eBay roll along jobs - it's ok so long as the swarf isn't too long, but doesn't do into corners or up close to walls. It was worth it's price to me.

Yes that's what I was doing before the roll along. Pain though on a fair sized floor round a milling machine that's been spitting bits in all directions.

Make your own with some neodinium magnets off eBay, glue them to an old sweeping brush, put a plastic bin bag over them and drag over the floor. Couple of old pram wheels would make it like the ones in the links.

On mine you pull a lever on the handle, and the magnets are cancelled and all the swarf falls into the bin - very easy to use compared to a bag thingy

They use them at one of the monthly tool auctions I go to....

I once made a mag sweeper that attached to the underside of our forklift, the amount of stuff it collected in a week was amazing !
Used a load of old speaker magnets from swapped out car speakers !
