I'm after a decent magnetic drill and I think it comes down to one of the two below. Does anyone have any experiences with the dewalt? I've read some good threads on here about the Rotabroach one and know a lot of trusted members use them.
Having never used a mag drill before; do they take side loads well?
Can I get a drill vice (& material) easily underneath them?
Quill depth on the Cobra?

Very informative indeed. What did you decide on in the end? It's a rather specialised bit of kit for an enthusiast (meaning myself). Justifying it is difficult, especially when one considers that, once bought, if it's a really useful tool it often finds a 1001 uses. Add to that, that if it is such a tool, buying a cheap / low spec machine is always, sadly, lamented.
