Ahh but surely the oil companies will just shut it down! There are plenty of very gullible people around who actually believe that. They don't seem to realise that if BP or Shell actually invented an engine that ran on water they would be even richer!
Or if Goodyear invented a tyre that never wore out. Ok you would only buy one set but all the other companies would go bust!

Hi, Off topic again, but they did. Back in the early 70s when their 'town and country' tyre was popular they introduced what, I think they called, the 'suburban' which didn't seem to wear out so they frantically tried to recall them, some people realised and refused.

I bought a van a few years ago that had some cheap Chinese tyres on the back. They lasted nearly 70,000 miles, every single wet mile was absolutely brilliant/terrifying depending on your point of view

My tyres last me about 5,000 miles - you can't even squeal them!
