Facebook appears to be the new place for products scams.

There is the magic highlighter type pen that totally removes even the deepest scratch on your car paintwork.

There is the power wand lance that will turn your standard hosepipe into an industrial pressure washer.

I am sure though the advert where I can invest £600 in bitcoins to have a £5000 return in two weeks is genuine, no way can the list of comments thanking the company for showing them how to become rich are fake reviews.

The biggest criminal however is facebook who do little or nothing to police similar adverts.

I have been known to correct grammatical errors in my offsprings' text messages. Eldest went out to buy Lynn Truss's book. Youngest moans "but Dad you were TAUGHT grammar, we weren't". (But I sometimes think he still believes I kept pet dinosaurs in my childhood).

I take photographs of all the grocer's apostrophes now appearing on road signs. The nearest one is on my regular walk to the nearest shop. Locally there is an early 20th century corner shop with a beautiful fully glazed tiled facade - that includes a real, actual physical grocer's apostrophe!

Now shall we discuss the correct use of the colon and semi-colon and whether you favour the Oxford comma? Obviously I don't.

As for the use of the colon, that's a whole different subject not suitable for discussion here - certainly before the generally accepted 9:00 p.m. 'water-shed'.
