just bought one of these http://www.alfra.co.uk/Manuals/17700_Max_ 35_50Plus_ALFRAUK_Stand0910_Druck.pdf the guy in the shop said they are good but chinese built and chinese motor,one of these http://www.alfra.co.uk/Manuals/18506_Rotabest_ MAX38Plus_DE_EN_Stand0109.pdf is german built but £70 more,would it have been worth the extra cash? i haven't taken it out of the box yet so i could take it back to swap

I tried one of them when one of our suppliers were flogging them. Seemed decent enough, quality on a par with the Evolution models i'd say.

Depends how much and for what you want to use it....

it would be mostly for farm buildings and workshop use but i'd only ever use it myself so it would get looked after so i'm thinking maybe i should have spent the extra money and hopefully i'll have a machine that will last for a long time

I guess you get what you pay for, Your not going to get a puka top of the range one for £200, buut having said that there are some great deals going around on Mag drillis and similar, so both of them look ideal for what you need.

To me it looks like light use, as your not going to be using it every day, so either one of them should be ideal.

And remember with mag drills and the actual rotabroach bits, you need a constant flow of cutting fluid, otherwise the bits could overheat and get blunt very quickly
