Some of the most inventive ideas have been drawn out on floors, fag packets and scraps of paper, no pc in sight.

Further to that if know what your doing, no need to draw it out. Its only purpose was to show others. Now how long would it take an average cad user to draw such an idea even in simplest form.

I thought this was going to be a link to MIT's workshop videos which are comprehensive and bang on the money. I learnt a lot from them and it's a superb resource to get an idea of how to use lathes, milling machines and drills accurately.
