Machine Push Buttons

Just bought three machine from a school, double ended polisher, linisher and a Startrite Bandsaw. All three machine are three phase and I intend to fit them all with inverters. I want to fit them with remove stop start buttons and have been looking on ebay. There seems to be lots from China and am wondering whether anyone has experience of buying from there and any to avoid? Don't want to set the machines up and find the buttons self destruct in short order.

If you are going with inverters them almost any switch will be OK as long as it is mechanically up to the job as the output from the inverters for switching purposed draw virtually no power.. so no worry about contact burning out.

Yeah the input contacts for inverters are usually supplied with self generated 24 volts and almost no current. The only way you will have any current through these is if you are using them in a circuit with a relay coil or similar - even then current draw should be minimal.

I've bought a few of the cheap Chinese ones - absolutely shocking rip off of telemcanique (even down to the logo, I'll post some pics when I get chance!)- but I got about 10 normally open buttons and a couple of twist to release stop pushes for twelve quid so for home use I can't really complain!

Have a look at how the original switchgear is connected as you may be able to wire into the original switch contacts ,if you want to avoid having to make blanking plates/fit more boxes .

Chinese rip off (left) and a proper telemcanique limit switch on the right. They've even copied the logo (but changed it ever so slightly), the designation is even a copy (Schneider nc blocks are designated ZBE -02).

Not quite sure if their CE markings are genuine, but I'm only using them for 24 volt so I'm not overly worried. They don't feel particularly robust, and they obviously reflect their price (cheap) but they work.

Chint are an ok make - at least they are genuine and not a blatant rip off like the ones I bought!!

I bought what I thought were Omron relays recently, but when they turned up the were Onrom, again blatant rip off, but I must say they are working ok in my CNC Plasma table controller

Non of their ce markings are genuine. They have a website where they create the certificates.......trading standards dont care.
