Machine mart...

So I ordered some stuff from Machine Mart and to be honest half of it was rubbish.
So they have a review section on their website so The good stuff all got good reviews and the bad stuff all got bad reviews. So the good reviews are there, but the bad ones dissapeared into nothing.

So I asked them where it went and they said

"Regarding the reviews, they are posted as long they are fair and reflect on the product."

I believe what I said was fair ands reflected in a poor light on their products but my bad reviews still are not on their website.

So think carefully when you buy from Machine mart as their review section is not as honest as it should be.

Had nothing but trouble with Machine mart recently.. won't be going there again anytime soon unless it's an absolute emergency.

Imagine you have an internet site, you have invested in a 1000 'wotsits' and a buyer writes a review stating they are total rubbish and not worth the money..would you put it on your site?

That's why I never pay any attention to site reviews, many which I believe are written by the site operators/owners themselves.

At the end of the Day you want cheap you get Chinese, You want quality, UK or US made you need to pay through the nose. It really is that simple

I think people need to take a bit more responsability on their purchases before deciding that the item is total crap and the shop is at fault

Only half of it was rubbish? You did well there. I only buy from MM if the company (or client) is paying and I warn them in advance what to expect. I'm rarely far wrong.

So I pay 35quid for a protractor and it turns out that it's more toys are us than Machine Mart.
I pay four quid for one and that works fantasic from somewhere else.
So I save 31 pounds and buy a quality bit of kit NOT from Machine Mart.

The shop is at fault, it sold poor quality goods.

The market has moved on considerably since MM first set up, better quality and value is easily found elsewhere.

I think the same thing happens with a lot of websites now. They only seem to make the good reviews visible to help with their sales

Is it just me or are MM hit and miss with their wouchers....only ever had one from them so far, or is it quantity buying related, ie, the more you buy from them the moer likely you are to get a mail voucher from them.....?

For the last 2 years I had one nearly every month, I have not had one for about 3 months now but our lass looked a bit guilty when I asked if one had been delivered...I have suspicions she binned it thinking it was the usual rubbish.

I only really bought a bandsaw 2 years ago and a pack of blades last year so not a big spender, although I have passed the voucher to others so a couple of migs are down to my name I suppose.

Thats pretty much what they told me in the local store. Chappie said he'd make sure I was "on the system" but still haven't had anything.

Having said that I haven't been back - as others have said you can get better elsewhere......
