Machine mart vat free?

Iv just had an email from Machine mart with there latest offers but no mention of a vat free weekend.

Does anyone know if there going to run one soon?

Yeah, it is a discount to take it down to the price without VAT. Wonder if the discount code is cusomer specific - I never use mine when it comes through, but then if I did give the code away, would MM think I had moved to High Wycombe or somewhere where the code was used?

They would be better off doing a bacon sarnie and tea day like other places do, would be a lot more likely pop in and buy little bits and bobs like drill bits, driver bits and I might spend a bit of time looking at the stuff - generally it is a Sunday shop for me when I need something and no where else is open.

I've passed mine on the last few times, I just make sure the person using it knows my name and postcode for when they log the sale in the computer.

Well if anyone wants mine in the future, they can have it. To get them anyway it is simple as buying something at MM as you give your details then or register online.

I've never really understood the Machine Mart vat free thing, the vast majority of their products are cheap and nasty anyway and if you look around the products can be found cheaper all the year round.

I enquired about this at the local MM a couple of months ago, seems you need to spend (considerable) money with them, or have done so in the past, to get the invite to the VFD. The chap was helpful though and said he would put my email details back on their confuser and I'd get offers etc. - but I've still not heard from them....

As Langy says though, better stuff can be bought cheaper if you plan ahead a little.

I get these vat free vouchers all the time, have done for years, I have never ever dealt with them, and don't even remember registering with them, the vat free thing is just a marketing term, you will still pay vat. It would be more accurate to just offer a 16% discount

I recently went in to get a few things on the VAT FREE, the guy at the counter said it doesnt apply if i don't spend 50 pound. In the past, its worked on any amount i've spent.
