Machine Mart VAT free days

Hi all, I've seen mention of VAT free days on a few occasions around these forums.

Can anyone share any info of how they work or when they run?

If you have purchased from them before they send you a voucher at irregular times, used to be a few each year but I only get one or two now.

They are for a specific date period of about a week or so.

Members sometimes offer them on the forum if they don't intend to use one but they seem a bit scarce at the moment, they perhaps think no one is spending money due to the holiday period.

I've shopped in the Edinburgh one a few times and have never had a voucher sent - might be because, although the nearest, it's 150(ish) miles away from here.....

I used to get them all the time, however now I actually want to buy something from MM i've not had one for a while, typical.

Everything is 150 ish miles away from reet up t'north

Come to think of it they have not sent me one for ages and they were always used by me or someone on here I gave it to

I got a vat free voucher once a month until I used one on a large compressor and now I get none...

That's a shame. That said though I'm finding tool-net.co.uk has prices closer to the VAT free prices at Machine Mart!
