Machine lighting

I have a milling machine where the light is a bit dead and is soon to be moving towards the dustbin.

Proper machine lights appear to be expensive and i think they might be a bit crap.

So any thoughts on using some low profile LED lights mounted either side of the head.

I'm a big fan of these led work lights, I replaced the old lamp holders so i kept all the flexibility. They light up the work area great.

If you have and IKEA nearby they do some good value units. From memory they were £12 and anglepoise style. The base/mount is poor but can be adapted easily.

The arms were from the old memlite that were on it,,best to make some rather than pay the exorbitant prices they go for.

Susse out if you go in the lift to the customer services in the Bristol store, you can get straight to the hotdogs and ice cream and bypass all the boring carp

I've got a couple of their lights on various machines, no idea what they are called but its a single led around 3w on the end of a flexi arm. Might be a bit too much of a spot light for some though.

Nice. I've got 2 x 20VDC transformers for the RPM counters on the lathe and mill, that will power the cree lights in the first link.
