I am looking for suggestions as to where I might buy a light for a lathe please, suggestions as to the best one to buy also welcome.

I bought a 10w LED floodlight from a local stockist to try as a work lamp supposedly equivalent to a 100w Halogen. Has a 240v AC to 28/36v DC power supply inside that could be rewired and remote mounted. I've used it so far on a tripod in the garage for welding and fabrication on a car and also over the workbench which was really good.

Forgot to add, the lamp face is 4.5 x 3.5 inches.

Anglepoise lamp? I've got 3 (2 original and 1 cheap copy) in my shed for 'spot' use to supplement the flourescent tubes. I may have to double that number if/when I get my 8 metre X 3 metre workshop/garage erected.

I find a superbright 450 lumens head torch from ebay is excellent for lathe work.Try to get one that takes 18650 li ion batteries.
