I'm going to try to get some 12.9 bolts as I have the above, it's got to be my current bolts not being upto the task, just had a look and they are 8.8 boltsAll you need is a screw, a nut to fit the screw and 2 washers, nothing else.

The guy I got them from said drill out to 7mm, I did this then had to hammer flush, this gave the hex shape to the holeA hex rivnut needs to go in a hex hole. Just saying.

Hi, what do you mean by grip length too long, is that the part that crushesThey will Cant/tip if the grip length is to long, 7mm drill is correct for 5mm
An Umbraco set screw will not break 2 good washers & a quality nut not cheese type

Thanks, I have read the chart, I didn't realise you could scroll across at 1st, I measured the rivnut and they are 14.5mm total length, the crush/hex area is 6mm, the hitting is to drive them in prior to tightening as the hex part doesn't go in when drilled to 7mm, I'm gonna try to crush one without installing to see what happens.Have a read of the chart #26 if the crush part of the nut is to long it can distort and tip & not grip correctly, never used hex ones, serated bodys help to lock them in. They do countersunk with serated back to csink angle as well as body.
The grip range is important, hitting it would loosen grip I would say
I put a dab of locktite bearing fit on, belt and bracers.
I can now laugh but at the time , doesn't help that I now have 1leg and have gotten fatter so access under a car in these instances isn't how I remember it beingi laugh … been there
