I need a repeatable back stop in my spindle for use with various chucks.. I remembered that our own @Dr.Al had published details of one he had done for his M250. https://www.cgtk.co.uk/metalwork/m250/backstop
Via private message he kindly supplied me with the drawings earlier in the week.
I used these as a starting point as the spindle bore on my M300 is around 39mm (clearance for 1.500") so modified accordingly.
The length had also to be increased to clear the headstock end cover, slight screwing up by working on the fly ended up with the central section a tad long, so this is what the spacer is for !!
It works a treat and after a busy few days can now move on to small production run of bits for another project that need to be all the same length.
For scale the long rod is 12mm od and the thread on the back is M24 x 1.5
Thank you @Dr.Al
