Wood or metal If they are cheap try one, you might be surprised. I bought a CBS45MD metal cutting bandsaw and expected the original blade to last 5 minutes so I bought quality* replacement blades at the same time. Once the machine was setup and the teething problems ironed out I decided to carry on using the blade until it broke or wore out. That seemed to be taking a long time so I replaced the blade with a quality* item and kept the old one as a backup. The original blade has been back on there so many times now and has only just given up and broken but in reality outlasted all the quality* blades.

Quality*= Good blade with poor welds at the minimum length so not long enough to repair. I modded the machine to take shorter blades and get the life out of them!

No, from my personal experience they're absolute crap!
They don't cut straight, they stretch, they snap...
Spend good money on a decent blade, set the saw up correctly and it will outlast several of those cheapo rubbish ones.
Tuffsaws are the dog's danglies, speak to them and they'll recommend the correct blade for you. I dealt with them when they were known as Dragon Saws.

I bought a pack of five 2 years ago with my Clarke bandsaw and am onto my 3rd blade now, I agree thats not very informative because it depends how much use they get and is not offering a comaprison, however for the price I have no complaints at all, they are cutting and lasting well.
I do put a drop of good cutting oil on the cut line before starting and am always very gentle lowering the blade to the metal, so perhaps that makes a little bit of difference.

See now I got a blade from dragon saws and after about 20 cuts it had no teeth left on it, they all broke off (brittle).
The MM blades are a little slower but have been faultless for me.
I mainly cut 3-5 mm wall box sections.

All my other blades came from Dragon Saws and one of those broke within seconds at the weld so I braze them now. Thinking about it, Dragon Saws also supplied blades for the little Burgess saw I have and they drove me mad stripping teeth and breaking! I'm looking for a 100ft Starret roll next and make my own.

have bought blades listed as superior quality and bi-metal before and none have lasted as well as blade that came with it, but as saw was secondhand not sure what make blade was.
