Have been asked to try & resurrect a roof light, it was a rusty ball.
Have got it apart the rust must have started the day before it was made.
BUT I do not think it is together correctly if anyone has a breakdown of the swivel mechanism or has one they would strip & photograph it would be a help,to make sure nothing is missing
The owner swears he has not had apart & I tend to believe him, but what happened before
there are 2 cupped washers one brass a spring & a large flat washer cant quite work out the flat one, the 2 cupped ones wont hold the swivel ball tight, the flat washer 
Have resurrected the 26 tpi thread on the fixed part of the mount now looking for a bit of alloy bar to make the hand nut it is very second hand cut, hammered & corroded badly about 75x30 mm the original surrendered to someone with a saw & chisel again before the present owner acquired it.
