I have got a pneumatic ram/cylinder that I am planning to use for a cheese press.
The data sheet for it does not give a lot of detail on how it should be lubricated only:
"Fluid - Unlubricated air. Lubrication, if used, must be continuous "
I presume this must be originally supplied with grease on the seals from the factory and if you use an oiler or something you could wash the grease out hence the need for continuous lubrication?
It looks like it has had oil in it previously so could I just strip it down, clean it all out, put a bit of food safe grease on the seals then run it from a oil-free compressor or some sort of bottled gas?
Its only for my own use so it's not going to be running many cycles!
